Bioelectrochemistry is calling for papers for a Special Issue entitled “New approaches in enhancing cell membrane permeabilization” following the 3rd World Congress on Electroporation and Pulsed Electric Fields in Biology, Medicine, and Food & Environmental Technologies. Guest editors are Matej Kranjc and Marie-Pierre Rols who expect papers on mechanisms and basic phenomena of electroporation as well as advances in cell membrane permeabilization through in vitro and in vivo experimentation combined with theoretical and numerical analysis. In particular, we welcome work that employs new approaches in inducing electric fields and enhancing cell membrane permeabilization in biomedical applications. Potential topics include but are not limited to the following: high intensity pulsed electromagnetic fields, near-field radiation of subnanosecond electric pulses, microwave induced electroporation and nanoparticles enhanced electroporation.
Submission deadline: 31 January, 2020
Publication of papers online will follow immediately after the peer-review and copy-editing process.
Instructions on how to submit: Authors should go to the home page of Bioelectrochemistry (www.evise.com/profile/#/BIOELECHEM/login), sign in with their EVISE or Elsevier profile credentials and click on “Start New Submission”. When trying to submit, the Authors need to choose the “VSI: Enhanced permeabilization” option when designating Issue (as shown below).
For additional information/inquiries please contact guest editors Matej Kranjc () and/or Marie-Pierre Rols ().

Mok along with guest editors Jelena Kolosnjaj-Tabi, Muriel Golzio and Marie-Pierre Rols, invite presenters of high quality research at the World Congress to author papers and submit their contributions to the post-World Congress special issue of the Cancers MDPI (IF 6.162). The special issue, entitled “Electric Field Based Therapies in Cancer Treatment: a Selection of Studies Presented at the 3rd World Congress on Electroporation”, will focus on:
topics related to basic biology;
computational modeling of electroporation;
pulsed electric field technologies
biomedical applications;
environmental applications;
micro and nanotechnologies; and
cold plasma.
This Special Issue will cover the latest research pertaining to electroporation and electric field based technologies and their therapeutic applications, principally but not exclusively applied to cancer treatments. This compendium will cover novel research studies and reviews, related to basic as well as applied research related to electric field based therapies.
Submission deadline: 31 December, 2019
Publication of papers online will follow immediately after the peer-review and copy-editing process.
Instructions on how to submit:
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to the website. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on Cancers MDPI website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Cancers is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1800 CHF (Swiss Francs).
For additional information/inquiries please contact guest editors Jelena Kolosnjaj-Tabi (), Muriel Golzio () and Marie-Pierre Rols ().

The Guest Editors Emanuela Signori, Maja Cemazar, Richard Heller, Marie-Pierre Rols, invite presenters of high quality research at the World Congress to author papers and submit their contributions to the special issue of the Vaccines journal entitled “Immunization by Electroporation”.
Aim of the Special Issue is to discuss how electroporation can modulate immunological effects and enhance the immune system response by genetic vaccines and/or immunomodulatory molecules, administered alone or in combination with other therapeutic treatments. We want also to discuss the immunological effects of drugs delivered by electric fields in pre-clinical and clinical trials.
The peer-reviewed papers will provide a cross-section on the ongoing research in the field of electroporation applied to infectious and cancer diseases.
